Web Design Process

How It Works

The 4C’s help outline our roles to ensure the project's success.

Collect

Before we start, we’ll chat about your goals and collect everything needed for the design—your logo, brand colours, and plenty of photos of your business.

If you don't have any of these assets, I can refer you to my trusted network of local Melbourne creatives who can help you out.

For the written content, I will interview you before we start the project to pick your brain and use that to write your content.

However, if you want to update your content in the future it will be as easy as double-clicking your mouse, typing, and pressing 'publish'.

Create

Once everything is collected, and we've discussed your goals, we’ll begin the project.

You will first receive a sitemap outlining the pages and content of your future site. Once that's approved, we'll go into two rounds of designing your home page to get feedback on the look and feel.

After that, we’ll move into Webflow development to bring the design to life. We will create the website page by page, allowing one revision round per page. That way we can continue working while you review each page and tick each page off one by one for smooth project management.

Critique

When the time comes for you to provide feedback, please be as thorough as possible—we have a lot to cover and only so many revision rounds.

You will have two business days to provide feedback once I've sent you something. This ensures the project runs according to schedule.

Care

Your new website won't need any ongoing maintenance because it's built with Webflow which maintains itself unlike WordPress.

However, you can expect me to check in every 6 months or so to see if you need any updates. I charge an hourly fee for any ad hoc work.

My goal is to help you grow your website alongside your business as your needs change.

What is the difference between the packages?

The right choice depends on where your business is at.

Our Starter Package (From A$1500) is designed to build a strategic foundation. It’s perfect for service providers or local businesses that need a high-converting, custom presence across up to 5 essential pages.

Our Standard Package (From A$2500) includes everything in the Starter tier but expands up to 10 pages. It adds all the bells and whistles, including a Google Business Profile optimisation to boost your local map rankings and a 1-hour website management training session so you feel completely confident managing your new site.

Will I be able to update the website myself?

Absolutely. We don't want you to have to pay a developer every time you need to change a line of text or swap an image.

If you choose our Standard Package, we include a dedicated 1-hour website management training session. We’ll walk you through the backend of your custom site step-by-step so you or your team can make updates with total confidence.

If you opt for the Starter Package, we also have client training posts in our blog for you to self-study how to update your site.

Are there any hidden fees, and do your prices include GST?

We want to be fully transparent with pricing which is why we created these web design packages in the first place.

The reason we have a 'from' pricing amount is to allow some flexibility for more complex projects. Some sites require extensive CMS architecture, custom animations or careful migration and this allows us to charge relative to the scope of the project.

That said, a 'standard' marketing website will align with the 'standard' price shown.

What does custom design & development actually mean?

It means we do not use any templates or 'themes' that make your business look generic.

Every detail is tailor-made to your unique branding, the strategy we develop, your target audience and the messaging behind why they should choose you.

To do this, we build everything from scratch and can customise anything pixel-perfect to what we want to achieve.

This is the benefit of working with developers who actually know how to build from the ground up and not our industry cowboys who duct-tape websites together.

What is the typical timeline for a custom project?

Typically, our standard packages take between 4 to 6 weeks from kickoff to launch, while highly complex, custom builds may take longer.

A starter package still includes some of the most time-consuming tasks like the strategy and custom design consultation phases. So, you can expect starter sites to still take around 4 weeks.

The absolute fastest way to guarantee an on-time launch is to book a site strategy session ASAP and to provide timely feedback once the project kicks-off.

What happens during the Site Strategy Session?

You can think of the Site Strategy Session as a collaborative audit.

We jump on a call, take a look at your current website, pinpoint exactly where you are losing potential clients, and map out the content your site needs to capture your target audience.

If you choose to work with us via one of our web design packages, amazing. If not, you still walk away with a detailed roadmap for your website that you can take to another developer.

Our strategy sessions are not free, we take a A$200 deposit that gets discounted from your final web design package if you choose to work with us. You will receive a detailed site map that outlines all the pages and content your site needs.

What if I want to upgrade to the Standard Package later on?

We love watching our clients grow, and we build every website with the future in mind. Because we don't use rigid templates, you will never have to scrap your website and start from scratch to upgrade.

If you launch on our Starter Package and later want to unlock the full features of the Standard Package—like expanding from 5 to 10 pages, getting your Google Business Profile optimised, and doing the 1-hour training—we make the transition seamless.

We will simply quote you to bridge the gap between the packages based on what you need, or we can handle it progressively using our Hourly Extras rate of A$60/hour. You’re never locked in, and your website can scale exactly when your business does.

Do your web design packages support e-commerce stores?

No, we do not build e-commerce or online retail websites. At Sleek Flows, we believe in being masters of our craft rather than trying to do everything for everyone.

What does the feedback and revision process look like?

Our process is designed to ensure you love the final product while keeping the timeline strictly on schedule:

The Design Phase: We start by designing a full mockup of just your Homepage. Both packages include 2 dedicated revision rounds on the homepage to lock in and align perfectly on the overall look, feel, and typography of the brand.

The Development Phase: Once you approve the homepage style, we move into Webflow to build the rest of the site. You will then get 1 revision round for each individual page as it gets developed to tweak elements and polish the details.

Your Role: To keep the wheels turning, we ask our clients to provide deeply detailed, consolidated feedback within 2 business days of receiving a preview link.

We are completely reasonable people—if you need a minor change after a round closes, we’re happy to help. However, to respect the schedule and ensure an on-time launch, any significant design or structural changes requested after the formal revision rounds have lapsed will be charged at our Hourly Extras rate of A$60/hour.
